Usually, what happened in this area is that the methods developed in the Machine Learning discipline have been slightly modified to deal with the high dimensional spaces of the text and almost all the methods by now have been proposed and tested, reaching for some of them very high performances. In this book, I will try to give a global idea of what a Automatic Text Processing system is and of the main problems connected to its design.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Leonardo Rigutini received a PhD. in Information Engineering in 2005 from University of Siena. Actually, he is Research Fellow at the Department of Information Engineering of Siena. The main research areas of Rigutini are Text-Mining, Natural Language Processing, Learning To Rank, Semantic Regularization and Machine Learning in general.
