There is little evidence on using Health Technology Assessment in dentistry. Dental implant technology is an example of innovative oral health technology. The objectives of this research were to gather the absent links needed for the assessment of the overdenture implant technology. These objectives were attained by 1) investigating what types of dental clinicians adopt and provide dental implants? 2) determining the effect of the clinicians? experience and 3) measuring the patients? preference in provision of mandibular 2-implants overdenture technology.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Dr. Shahrokh Esfandiari is a practicing clinician scientist and the first Canadian dentist with official trainings in Health Technology Assessment (HTA). He has a B.Sc. in Biochemistry, a MSc in "International Health Technology Assessment and Management" , along with his PhD in "Oral Health Technology Assessment" at McGill University.
