In 1873 the famous Scottish neurologist and psychologist David Ferrier (1843-1924) began his research into electrical excitation of the brain. And through these experiments he proved the existence of the localization of the cerebral functions. Three years later he published in The Functions of the Brain his experimental results, which gave international fame to Ferrier. So that still today this book is considered as one of the classics of neuroscience.
