Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Matthew Rolston, Fotograf und Videokünstler, wurde 1977 von Andy Warhol "entdeckt" und mit Porträts für dessen Zeitschrift Interview beauftragt. Es folgten Arbeiten für das Musikmagazin Rolling Stone im Auftrag des Herausgebers Jann Wenner und für Vanity Fair. Rolstons Fotografien der 1980er-Jahre fallen durch glamouröse Beleuchtung und detailreiche Kulissen auf. Seine Bildsprache hat die zeitgenössische Ästhetik der amerikanischen Porträtfotografie mit definiert. Rolstons Arbeiten sind unter anderem in den ständigen Sammlungen des Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) und der National Portrait Gallery in Washington zu finden.
