Maurice Tuchman was Senior Curator of Twentieth Century Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. In his thirty years at the Museum he organized many major exhibitions, including "New York School", "Art and Technology", "The Spiritual in Art: Abstract Painting 1890-1985" and "Parallel Visions: Modern Art and Outsider Art". He has curated exhibitions of Chaim Soutine, whose art he has studied since his graduate work at Columbia University.
