The main focus of this volume is on utopias in design in Germany, ranging from the situation after World War II to visions of the future on the turn of the new millennium. German design has always exerted a great influence on contemporary architecture, be it through the Bauhausor the rebuilding of Berlin. This annual takes stock of this fact and presents contemporary design in one volume. A few of the buildings included are: the Lazer Factory and Logistics Center, Stuttgart by Frank Barkow and Regine Leibinger; The Reichstag, Berlin by Norman Foster; the "Zollhof", Dusseldorf by Frank O.Gehry; the tower block at the Hanover Fair by Thomas Herzog and the Law Court by Gesine Weinmiller.
