Pflanzen als Datenspeicher, Algen als Energieträger und Kleinstlebewesen als empathische Gesprächspartner: Die Ausstellung 1,5 Grad beleuchtet das komplexe Zusammenwirken von Mensch, Natur und Technik und zeigt auf, wie die Klimakrise auf alle Lebensbereiche Einfluss nimmt. Sie erstreckt sich in Form einzelner Fragmente über das gesamte Museum und bis auf das Gelände der Bundesgartenschau 2023. Internationale Künstler*innen wie Ernesto Neto, melanie bonajo, Otobong Nkanga oder Marianna Simnett machen auf die ökologischen, politischen und sozialen Wechselwirkungen der Klimakrise aufmerksam und verdeutlichen, wie eng Mensch und Umwelt miteinander verflochten sind. Eine kritische Beschäftigung mit der Vergangenheit verbindet sich dabei mit einer Bestandsaufnahme der Gegenwart und Impulsen für eine nachhaltige, innovative und kreative Zukunft.

Plants as data repositories, algae as energy sources and microorganisms as empathic interlocutors: the exhibition 1,5 Grad illuminates the complex interaction between humans, nature and technology and shows how the climate crisis affects all areas of life. It extends in the form of individual fragments throughout the museum and onto the grounds of the Federal Garden Show 2023. International artists such as Ernesto Neto, melanie bonajo, Otobong Nkanga and Marianna Simnett draw attention to the ecological, political and social interactions of the climate crisis and illustrate how closely humans and the environment are intertwined. A critical engagement with the past is combined with a stocktaking of the present and impulses for a sustainable, innovative and creative future
