International development is on the verge of change. As the current development framework, the Millennium Development Goals, enters its final year in 2015, governments and key actors for civil society are negotiating a new vision for development. If development for all is the process of enlarging people’s opportunities in order to create a sustainable future for all, then persons with disabilities as part of the world’s community cannot be overlooked. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Die CBM ist eine internationale christliche Organisation der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit, deren Hauptziel es ist, die Lebensqualität von Menschen mit Behinderungen in den ärmsten Länd ern der Welt zu verbessern. Ihre über 100 Jahre lange Erfahrung setzt die CBM ein, um die Inklusion von Menschen mit Behinderungen in Ländern mit niedrigem und mittlerem Einkommen zu fördern. Wir wollen ihnen eine umfassende Gesundheitsversorgung, Bildung und Unterstützung bei der Existenzsicherung zugänglich machen. Außerdem beteiligt sich die CBM zusammen mit ihren Partnern an Initiativen, die eine stärkere Teilhabe und Selbstbestimmung von Menschen mit Behinderungen, ihren Familien und Gemeinschaften zum Ziel haben.
