This book is to discuss developmental procedure of an effective substation earthing system model to ensure that step and touch potentials. Various methods of Earthing and factors influencing the earthing have been analyzed. Classification of Substations and the need for substation earthing has been elaborated. Explanation of Electric soil resistivity and its measurement techniques has been described. The two layer soil resistivity model implementation and CYMGRD based soil resistivity computations have been explained in simple steps. Overall impedance to earth has been calculations steps and grid potential rise limits check has been carried out with suitable example. Step and touch potentials have been obtained and identified that the values are lower than allowable step and touch potentials for a real time substation model. This book is useful for Electrical Engineer which gives an insight of substation earthing and its various design aspects.
