This study sought to obtain views on the value and content of a pain management information leaflet from patients attending an oncology outpatient department. A simple questionnaire was used with to explore the informational needs of oncology patients in Pain Management. The work indicated that patients value information and that these needs are not being met. It is advantageous to involve the patients in the leaflet design process to ensure the information is accessible and useful. The study showed that this could be done simply and cheaply. The information can be used to produce a patient-friendly pain management leaflet and form the basis of improvements to pain management.
