In this study, the last changes in the Civil Law which ensure gender equality will be assessed. The provisions brought by the law aimed at ensuring gender equality within the family institution.The family, the accepted main form of coexistence of men and woman, is an age and gender-based hierarchical formation. The family is a place in what there is gender-based division of labor between women and men and, the division is reborn and re-produced. In the familyi the main task of women are household work, child and elderly care. The gender-based division of labor in society puts women in a dependent and secondary position, which prevents their material and spiritual enhancement. The main objectives of the law are the removal of women’s dependency upon men, strengthening the economic status of women and making them equal. Are the regulations adequate to change the traditional roles?

She was born on 30th of December 1963 in Ankara, Turkey. She was graguated ¿stanbul University Law School in 1984. Since than she worked as a lawyer and during her carrier she mostly worked on women's rights. She had a child at 1994 and she raised her child as a singel mother. She copmleted her M.A. about women's gender discrimination against law.
