Inhaltsangabe

This Book constitutes an independent empirical & theoretical academic investigation in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) oil rich countries' renewable energy in generation mix using both qualitative and quantitative analysis among the relation between conventional energy (fossil fuel) consumption, renewable energy (Solar), CO2 emission, investment inflow for private sector participation in renewable energy and energy efficiency for sustainable economic growth. The results also strongly implies that policies aimed at increasing renewable energy into generation mix can significantly increase socio- economic growth for about 600 million citizens that are without access to electricity. The investigation therefore strongly concludes that a holistic energy planning and investment into renewable energy infrastructure is needed to drive SSA oil rich countries’ economic growth. In the long-run however, it is possible for SSA countries’ to meet the energy needs for sustainable development and at the same time reduce CO2 emissions by developing alternative energy sources such as solar and wind energy.
