The book deals with two researches: First is experimental and theoretical study of flow pattern dynamics and their manifestation on the liquid surface in a flat bottomed cylindrical stirred vessel stirred by down pumping impeller.Based on flow visualization, parameters describing flow macro-formation behaviour were obtained. These experimental results were compared with the results calculated from a theoretical model. In the next part of the contribution, the theoretical solution of expression for liquid surface swell dimensions is presented. The liquid swell is supposed to be an effect resulting from an interaction between the surface and the flow macro-formation. The data obtained from the theoretical solution are compared with swell dimensions determined from the visual analysis of the surface behaviour. Second is study bringing comparation of the diagnostic values of NIR (near infrared) spectroscopy with EBUS for SPN diagnostic. In this study fluoroscopic guidance was combined with a radial EBUS or a NIR spectroscopy probe for tissue confirmation. The statistical analysis of the results obtained showed a comparative specificity and sensitivity of the NIR with radial EBUS.
