Coal fires are of great concern to scientists, politicians, and the general public worldwide. Besides effecting local life and property, coal fires are a problem of truly global proportions: they contribute to global warming, pollute the environment in various degrees and on various levels, and destroy valuable non-renewable resources. This book will give us an idea how we can detect the spatial topography of surface temperature and coal fire detection as well as monitor it. What technology is required for their extinction, or better prevention? If it becomes possible to detect and monitor the coal fire it will be very fruitful for human civilization.
