A comprehensive study on mm-wave and THz properties of IMPATT devices and their optical modulation has been presented in this book. High frequency performance limiting factors such as avalanche response, tunneling, series resistance, etc. have been studied for mm-wave and THz IMPATTs. Finally a quantum drift-diffusion model has been proposed for obtaining more accurate design of IMPATT devices at higher mm-wave and THz frequencies.

A. Acharyya has been working as an Assistant Professor of Department of ECE, Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions, Mankundu, Hooghly, W.B., India since 2011. His research interest is mm-wave and THz semiconductor devices. He is the principle coauthor of more than 80 research papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
