Obteve o seu doutoramento em Genética e Melhoramento de Plantas na Universidade de Agricultura e Tecnologia G. B. Pant. Pantnagar (Uttarakhand). Recebeu uma medalha de ouro a nível de PG e DST INSPIRE.
