Inhaltsangabe

Particulate matter (PM10) mass concentrations and its chemical characterization, have been widely studied in recent years due to its potential impact on health, environment, visibility and climate. Particles that make up ambient aerosol vary in their chemical composition. The composition of individual particles depends on its sources or origin and its subsequent atmospheric history. Because of large variety of sources, the atmospheric formation of secondary particles and atmospheric behavior particles may contain hundreds of different species. The sources of particulate pollution refer to the various locations, activities or factors which are responsible for the releasing of pollutants in the atmosphere. The epidemiological studies has underlined the importance of ambient particles and the need for monitoring PM10, especially water soluble species as they are easily transported in bodies and circulated with blood and can be responsible for the adverse effects in the human body.
