However, the chemistry of seaweeds is distinct and intriguing. This research provides particulars regarding the cultivation of the seaweed Kappaphycus alvarezii, its nutritional composition, functional properties of its protein concentrate, its antioxidant potential, as well as, the phycoremediation of heavy metals using Kappaphycus alvarezii. It would be of interest to aquaculturists and biochemists, as well as, researchers and industrialists, interested in prospective applications of seaweeds.
