The onset of wireless mesh networks and the increaseddensity ofwireless base stations and users call for algorithmsthat enablecollaborative resource sharing in order to enhanceperformance. Partisan nature of wireless nodes insuch networks, impedes the applicability of network wide sharingmethods. The initial part of this text presentsresource allocationmechanisms in the context of power sharing, and presentsdistributed strategies for guaranteeing fairness. The latter part of the text describes frequencysharing in meshnetworks. Towards this,a partial information based stochastic controlproblem is formulated that quantifies the bestpossible performance achievable as afunction of the available information. Using acombination of analysis, simulationand experiments, the strategies are evaluated and theperformance is quantified as a function of systemparameters.
