This book focuses on how urban design and planningare related to the changes in so-called exposedsuburban metropolitan areas, areas built in theperiod of mass housing during the sixties andseventies. The empirical material comprise anevaluation of a national area-based funding programmein Sweden, the Local Development Agreements, aimed atsocial inclusion and sustainable development. Theresearch question addresses the roles of the localemployees responsible for implementation of theprogramme.
