The main audience for and participants of Euro-Par are seen as researchers in academic departments, government laboratories, and industrial organisations. Euro-Par’s objective is to become the primarychoice of such professionals for the presentation of new results in their speci?careas. Euro-Par is also interested in applications that demonstrate the e?ectiveness of the main Euro-Par themes. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Euro-Par Conference, Euro-Par 2000, held in Munich, Germany in August/September 2000.The volume presents a wealth of 167 papers authored by more than 480 scientists and five invited contributions. The 167 papers presented were selected from a total of 326 submissions with the help of more than 500 reviewers and workshop committee members on the basis of 3.8 reviews per paper. The book is, in accordance with the 21 workshops held, divided in 21 topical sections and addresses all current issues in the area of parallel processing.
