Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

John Harrison ist 1952 in Liverpool geboren. Seine Vorfahren umrundeten Kap Hoorn mit einem Segelschiff. Er lehrte Geographie in Cambridge und Liverpool und engagierte sich mit zahlreichen Zeitschriftenpublikationen im Umweltschutz. In den letzten zehn Jahren reiste er durch sechs Kontinente und schrieb Hörfunksendungen über die Osterinsel und die Antarktis. 1999 wurde er Mitglied der Royal Geographical Society. Harrison lebt in Wales.
