Inhaltsangabe

This revised and enlarged fourth edition contains: 24 new radiographs, mainly of the limb regions of the dog and cat, with 11 illustrations of the positioning related to them; and 20 radiographic sketches of the postnatal developments of the appendicular skeleton. The book is arranged according to species, and for each species the radiographs of the skeleton and joints are arranged by body regions. The internal organs are classified by organ systems. This work, directed towards the needs of both student and practitioner, illustrates the normal radiographic anatomy by means of X-ray pictures, taken on live animals under conditions most advantageous for diagnosis. The illustrations are produced in negative print to facilitate comparison with X-ray photographs viewed in the normal way in transmitted light. In order to obtain an unhindered view of the radiographs a a fully described sketch is added, leaving the pictures themselves free from lettering and inscriptions. This should permit the student and the radiographically less experienced veterinarian to confidently recognise and retain the anatomical details.
