El presente volumen recorre a través de sus once capítulos, desde una perspectiva histórico-filosófica, un nutrido derrotero de fuentes que abordan la problemática del finalismo de la naturaleza en el amplio período comprendido entre los siglos IX a XVII. En este contexto, los estudios de este libro examinan los núcleos temáticos naturaleza-racionalidad, naturaleza-causalidad, naturaleza-finalidad y normatividad. Esta temática se hace presente en el esfuerzo especulativo de la racionalidad humana por alcanzar en la intelección del mundo una lectura de la naturaleza, de su composición intrínseca y de sus proyecciones en la filosofía del hombre y en el dominio de su desenvolvimiento perfectivo. Se comprende entonces que la inteligibilidad de la naturaleza del mundo y de la naturaleza del hombre constituyan una “vox” expresiva de diversos planos de racionalidad.****************Throughout its eleven chapters, this volume deals with an abundance of sources confronting the problem of teleology in nature over the lengthy period from the 9th to the 17th century, considering this issue from the perspective of the history of philosophy. In this context, the studies within this book analyze the central themes of nature-rationality, nature-causality, nature-teleology and normativity. These themes emerge in the speculative efforts of human rationality in order to achieve, in its intellection of the world, a reading of nature, of its intrinsic composition and its projections into the philosophy of mankind as well as into the domain of its perfective development. On this basis, it becomes possible to see that the intelligibility of the nature of the world and of the nature of the human being constitute a “vox” which can express various levels of rationality.
