The "Design-Innovations" competition has been held regularly each year by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen since 1955. The "Design Innovations" provide Industry and Designers with an opportunity for up-to-date international comparisons. Both German and foreign companies can take part, and the products entered come from all sectors of industry. Found there are not only consumer goods such as cars, entertainment electronics, furniture, kitchen utensils, cameras and textiles, but also capital goods such as machine tools, computers of measuring instruments. The yearbook accompanying the competition presents the award-winning products in words and illustrations.
