A comprehensive treatment of current fastening technology including inserts, post-installed anchors, as well as power-actuated fasteners, in both concrete and masonry. The section "Fastenings in Concrete" describes in detail these elements together with their behavior and load-bearing capacities in cracked and uncracked concrete, while also considering the effects of corrosion and fire, as well as earthquake and shock loading. It concludes with an assessment of fastenings, illustrated by numerous examples. The "Fastenings in Masonry" section goes on to deal with several different types of masonry and describes the load bearing characteristics with an assessment of plastic fastenings and injection-molded anchors, including criteria for selecting the correct fastening.Über den Autor:

Buchbeschreibung Ernst W. & Sohn Verlag Feb 2006, 2006. Buch. Buchzustand: Neu. 249x177x24 mm. A comprehensive treatment of current fastening technology using inserts (anchor channels, headed stud), anchors (metal expansion anchor, undercut anchor, bonded anchor, concrete screw and plastic anchor) as well as power actuated fasteners in concrete. It describes in detail the fastening elements as well as their effects and load-bearing capacities in cracked and non-cracked concrete. It further focuses on corrosion behaviour, fire resistance and characteristics with earthquakes and shocks. It finishes off with the design of fastenings according to the European Technical Approval Guideline (ETAG 001), the Final Draft of the CEN Technical Specification Design of fastenings for use in concrete and the American Standards ACI 318-05, Appendix D and ACI 349-01, Appendix B. 378 pp. Englisch.
