Inhaltsangabe

This scientific paper is dedicated to the category of hysteria in psychoanalysis. The topic is discussed on a theoretical and clinical level. Psychoanalysis came into being with the help of female hysterical patients. Although in the Victorian Western World this disorder was very popular, now it is almost gone from the psychiatric nosologies. The problem of definition of hysteria is addressed. Hysteria as a symptom of society is discussed in connection with the theory of 'The Big Brother Society.' The role of parental identifications and the lateral relationship are considered. The special relationship between the hysteric and his/ her body is addressed. Transference and countertransference with a hysteric alongside with a distinct meaning of dreamwork are examined. The case study introduces the clinical vignette for a presented theory, inviting the reader to re-assess the psychodynamic in a hysterical disorder spectrum, enabling another approach to an understanding of unconscious neurotic conflicts.
