Digital image segmentation is one of the most important approaches to image analysis due to its importance as a post processing step and basic concept of machine vision as an effective tool for object recognition, which means data extraction. Achieving image segmentation is done by wide variety of pre-processing and other post-processing techniques where different choices of these techniques may lead to different results. The most important applications of low-intensity ultrasound are nondestructive testing of materials, tools, machine components, etc., and medical sonography. In both cases the goal is the examination of a medium and the inhomogeneities hidden in it.
