SAY’s second edition of 2025/26 is again more than merely a selection of the best: By way of 30 outstanding designs realized between 2022 and 2024, selected by an independent international jury from a list of 160 nominees from all parts of the country, and six topical essays, it once again showcases the diversity and exceptional quality of Swiss architecture. The essays delve into burning issues facing construction and design: challenges such as climate change and construction in the context of limited resources; how to densify existing fabrics and make open spaces more appealing; what factors help preservation and transformation projects to succeed; and the key role of socially and environmentally conscious clients and developers.

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Die SAS Stiftung Architektur Schweiz, gegründet 2022, fördert die nationale und internationale Wahrnehmung aktueller Architektur und Baukultur in der Schweiz und im Fürstentum Liechtenstein sowie den fachlichen und interegionalen Dialog darüber.

Das S AM Schweizerisches Architekturmuseum in Basel, gegründet 1984 und seit 2006 unter seinem jetzigen Namen aktiv, ist die führende Institution für die Vermittlung von zeitgenössischer Architektur in der Schweiz. Andreas Ruby ist Kunsthistoriker und Architekturvermittler und seit 2016 Direktor des S AM.

Die Zeitschrift werk, bauen + wohnen erscheint seit 1914 und ist eine der führenden Architekturzeitschriften und das Organ des BSA Bund Schweizer Architektinnen und Architekten.  Roland Züger  ist Architekt, Journalist und seit 2022 Chefredakteur von werk, bauen + wohnen.



Stiftung Architektur Schweiz SAS , established in 2022, supports and promotes national and international visibility of and the professional dialogue on architecture and building culture in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

The Swiss Architecture Museum S AM in Basel, founded in 1984 and active under its current name since 2006, is Switzerland’s leading institution for the display of and dialogue on contemporary architecture. Andreas Ruby is an art historian and educator serving as S AM’s director.
