Den desperaten Zustand unserer Welt anhand von Bildern zu erklären ist das kühne Ziel dieses Buches. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen haben sich Ruedi und Vera Baur mit der globalisierungskritischen Organisation Attac zusammengeschlossen, die ihnen umfangreiche Daten zur Verfügung stellt. Formal ist die Publikation eine Hommage an den Soziologen Otto Neurath und den Grafikdesigner Gerd Arntz, die in den 1920er-Jahren das bildpädagogische System Isotype schufen. Ruedi und Vera Baur haben ein Figurensystem wiederverwendet, das ursprünglich für die Manifesta 11, die Europäische Biennale für zeitgenössische Kunst in Zürich, entwickelt wurde. «Our World to Change!» gibt sich nicht damit zufrieden, Zahlen und Statistiken aus den Bereichen Ökonomie, Finanzen, Ökologie, Ernährung oder Immigration verständlich zu machen, sondern präsentiert Vorschläge und Alternativen von Experten und von Attac. Die visuelle Entschlüsselung der Mechanismen und Fehlfunktionen unseres Weltsystems hilft aufzuzeigen, dass eine Alternative möglich und nötig ist.
