Olaf Kühne
Olaf Kühne studied geography, modern history, economics and geology at Saarland University and obtained his doctorate in geography and sociology there and at the University of Hagen. After working in various Saarland state authorities and at Saarland University, he was Professor of Rural Development/Regional Management at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences and Adjunct Professor of Geography at Saarland University in Saarbrücken from 2013 to fall 2016. Since fall 2016, he has been a professor in the research area of geography at the Chair of Urban and Regional Development at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.
Florian Weber
Florian Weber studied geography, business administration, sociology and journalism at the University of Mainz and gained his doctorate at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with a thesis comparing German and French area-based policies in light of discourse theory. He completed his post-doctoral degree (Habilitation) at the University of Tübingen in 2018. In April 2019 he was appointed Junior Professor, in April 2025 Professor of European Studies at Saarland University, with special reference to Western Europe and border regions.
Karsten Berr
Karsten Berr studied Landscape Stewardship at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and Philosophy and Sociology at the FernUniversität in Hagen, where he received his doctorate in 2008. Since May 2018, he has been working at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in the Chair of Urban and Regional Development.
Corinna Jenal
Corinna Jenal studied German language and literature, political science and philosophy at the University of Trier and completed the “Sustainability Certificate” at Saarland University's Endowed Chair of Sustainable Development. Since 2016 respectively 2019, she has been working as a research assistant and assistant professor in the research area of geography at the Chair of Urban and Regional Development at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, where she received her doctorate in 2019.
