Swarnali Acharyya is a cancer biologist who performed her postdoctoral training at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and joined Columbia University as an Assistant Professor in 2014. Her laboratory investigates how metastatic tumors induce systemic changes in distant organs, such as skeletal muscle, and how these changes cause a debilitating syndrome in advanced cancer patients known as cachexia.
