Since 2013, Janet Nagel has been professor of renewable energies at Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany. She is also founder of the Institute for Energy and Resource Innovation. Her work priorities include renewable energies, modeling of energy supply systems and biomass process optimization.

This book describes how a model for optimizing the energy supply system in Germany can be implemented. It focuses on the open energy modeling framework (Oemof) program for modeling energy supply systems. The individual elements of Oemof are described, as well as the model’s structure.
