A precision three-dimensional paper model of the castle, which was destroyed in 1462 by the Swedish. Completely reconstructed at the turn of the 20th Century by Kaiser Wilhelm II as a symbol of the German Empire, which controlled the area at the time. In 1919 it became one of the National Palace of the French State and now is the most visited monument in Alsace. An illustrated text gives historical information and step by step instructions for assembly, in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. There are 18 colored sheets to cut-out in order to build the model (scale 1:400, base 27 x 8 inches, height 7.5 inches).
