�ber die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Antonio Rigo is Professor of Byzantine Philology and Christianity at Ca' Foscari - University of Venice. His research focuses on religious life in Byzantium, with special emphasis on ascetical and mystical literature, heresiology, and theology during the Palaiologan period. Niccol� Zorzi is Associate Professor of Byzantine Civilization at the University of Padua. His research focuses on highbrow Byzantine literature (historiography, rhetoric) in the Comnenian period, Byzantine education, Greek studies in Renaissance Italy, on the history of the Greek manuscripts preserved in the Marciana Library.
