Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Ruth Brown est née dans le Devon, en Angleterre, en 1941. Elle s'intéresse très jeune à l'art et au dessin et s'oriente alors vers une carrière artistique. En 1961, elle intègre le prestigieux Royal College of Art. Une fois diplômée, elle travaille pour la BBC, réalisant des décors pour des émissions pour enfants jusqu'au jour où elle se lance dans l'illustration pour enfants. Son succès est immédiat et inaugure le début d'une liste déjà longue et remarquée d'albums. Parmi ses ouvrages les plus célèbres, il faut citer "Une histoire sombre très sombre", "Le voyage de l'escargot", "Dix petites graines", "Le visiteur de Noël"... Chaque illustration est pour elle comme un véritable tableau. Amoureuse de la nature, elle a quitté Londres pour s'installer avec son mari, l'illustrateur Ken Brown, dans la plus belle ville de Bath. Ruth et Ken ont deux fils, aujourd'hui adultes.
