Build a More Powerful, Athletic Swing — Without Mechanical Overload

The Catapult Loading System gives parents, coaches, and instructors a clearer way to teach hitters how to load, move, and transfer energy more efficiently.

Instead of chasing a perfect-looking swing or stacking mechanical cue after mechanical cue, Joey Myers focuses on a handful of human movement principles drawn from biomechanics, physics, motor learning, and years of swing experimentation.

The goal is simple: help hitters understand how their bodies work so they can create more consistent power without sacrificing rhythm, adjustability, or swing quality.

Think of movement principles like the bumpers in a bowling alley. The hitter does not have to follow one exact path or copy somebody else's swing. The principles provide useful boundaries while still allowing each athlete to move, learn, and adjust in their own way.

Inside The Catapult Loading System, You'll Learn:

  • Why principles are more useful than collecting random hitting drills.
  • How to load the body more efficiently so hitters can better use the energy they already have.
  • How Finger Pressure, Hollow Position, Showing Numbers, Downhill Shoulders, Hiding Hands, and the One-Joint Rule fit together as a system.
  • How to run simple swing experiments instead of relying on "because-I-said-so" instruction.
  • Why smaller hitters can benefit from better movement organization rather than simply being told to swing harder.
  • How to teach one movement at a time without turning the athlete into a mechanical robot.
  • Why process matters during practice — even when the immediate result is not perfect.

This Expanded Second Edition Also Includes:

  • "How to Practice" guidance for the major Catapult Loading System movements.
  • Age-appropriate examples for simplifying difficult movement concepts.
  • How pitchers can attack ineffective swing paths — and how hitters can adjust.
  • A deeper look at hitting pitches lower in the strike zone.
  • Timing and practice-to-game transfer concepts.
  • Principles from The Science of Sticky Coaching for helping athletes actually learn what you are teaching.
  • Updated companion resources for the videos, drills, experiments, and demonstrations referenced throughout the book.

This is not a magic-drill book.

Different hitters develop at different rates. Size, strength, coordination, training history, competition level, and practice quality all matter. CLS is designed to give parents and coaches a more useful framework for understanding movement, testing ideas, and helping hitters improve over time.

Move better. Learn smarter. Build a swing that can grow with the hitter.

Swing smarter by moving better.
