Inhaltsangabe

Seatco, the invisible demonic spirit after which Spirit Lake on Mt. St. Helens is named, is released when a family of weekend hikers chisels off the guardian petroglyph entombing it in a hidden rocky gulley. Once freed, Seatco possesses the body of the grandfather and goes on a killing rampage. He reappears in Portland during the Rose Parade and leaves a trail of grisly murders making Lyle Robertson, the detective assigned to the case, wondering whether he is dealing with one killer or many. Michael is an amateur paleontologist who spends his time meditating, drinking wine and searching for the fossilized remains of a saber tooth tiger to lift him out of poverty. He meets Sara, the hippy-chick woman of his dreams, while meditating on the slopes of Mt. Jefferson. She enlists his aid in helping her find Seatco. The trail leads from Mt. St. Helens two days before the eruption to the depths of Mt. Jefferson and its hidden secrets. With the help of Robertson and Aurora—Sara and Michael’s daughter—they manage to confront Seatco, but pay a terrible price.
