John L. Wagner grew up in an unstable alcoholic home. Beginning at the age of five, he was bounced between temporary receiving homes, foster care, and eventually juvenile hall, many times. At sixteen, his younger sister, Cherie, was murdered. Facing a lot of uncertainty, he became an alcoholic and addict. After years of addiction, he was inspired to get sober and become productive. He has received three U.S. patents and, with the love and encouragement of the Self family, he brought two products to market. In spite of this success, there was a lot of childhood trauma to heal. Seeking therapeutic refuge at the ocean was where he enjoyed body surfing and scuba diving. After so many losses and life lessons, writing poetry and affirmations has been a gift that allows him to give back and inspire to others.
