The (extreme) future of the Universe, as a subject for theoretical exploration, is astonishingly devoid of depth and daring. It is limited to stating that the universe will either; - expand forever to end in a big chill when even Black Holes have evaporated, or, - cease in its expansion and contract, to end in a Big Crunch, the opposite of the Big Bang, or, - follow the latter path, but rebound, Phoenix-like, in a new Big Bang. (None, deal with the possible details en route, details which, upon inspection, are utterly astonishing, as I wish to share with you.) Certainly, the accelerating of the rate of expansion, without anything other than wishful thinking to support an end to this, rather favours the first scenario. Two huge red-herrings in cosmology are rather muddying the waters, as it were; Dark Energy and Dark Matter. I present rational arguments against these problems having any substance. Neither, however, has any ultimate influence upon the my proposals, for the future of the Universe. I am a retired individual without connections with formal academic research institutes. My professional former life was predominantly spent as an industrial Chemist and Manager. Whilst my academic qualifications are not in the field of Astrophysics and Cosmology, I do have three science degrees; Chemistry, Biology and Geology, plus a non-scientific Masters degree. These, a fervent interest in the subjects of Astrophysics and Cosmology and have guidance from the ubiquitous and relentless forces of gravity, have led me to the formation of my, personal, theory.
