THERE'S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO WRITE A BOOK . . .My advice? Never start your writing career with a novel. Start smaller, with short stories and novellas. Do a bunch of them and you'll hone your craft. You'll create characters, concepts, and scenarios that you might later put into a novel. Meanwhile, write dozens of short stories and put them out there (in anthologies, magazines, and/or contests). This isn't a quick or easy process but it's worthwhile if you love to write.Of course, there's just one problem: what to write? This particular aid's geared towards someone looking to write crime, action, horror, or sci-fi (in its many sub-genres). You could literally buy this book, read through the brief instruction, and start writing your first short story within the hour. And for you seasoned writers, looking to write a series, Batchery will also come in handy. Crack it open and give it a peek. You'll understand.
