Thomas Croft lives in East Sussex, England, has a good knowledge of the local environment and, like many others, strives to know more about the fascinating and mysterious history of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Imaginative stories are, he believes, a way in which we can try to inhabit and learn from the lives of those who were there at the time. Thomas is also interested in reading and education. He works with visitors to the area, local schools and, in The Fighting Man, his aim is to present an adventure which holds the reader’s attention, makes intelligent demands and offers insight into our history and our humanity.
