Although there is much debate as to the nature of such construct, non-would argue on the universality of its existence, even if in different forms. Morality stands as the basic cornerstone of social life, acting as a basic guideline to normative life and enacting upon the individual their duty set upon them as part of their social existence. The idea of morality is not separated from its universality as a social institution, quite the opposite would be the truth. It stands as the basic social agreement, enacting the basic structure of society from the very standpoint of necessity, but ever-changing and evolving to fit itself to the narrative of its era. It could not be separated from the fact that wherever there is social life, there is an ideal of morality, standing as the cornerstone of all that there is to say about the actions and inactions of society. Within this universality exist changing aspects of moral behaviour which must be explored. It is the aim of this essay to explore these and to provide an insight into the changing moral construct and into its evolution.
