JANICE L. MCDERMOTT, MSW, M.Ed, LCSW author of HEALING MIND Five Steps to Ultimate Healing, Four Rooms for Thoughts (2015), MIND MAGIC, Building a Foundation for Emotional Well-Being (2021), containing eighteen weeks of guided imagery exercises for teaching mental health skills with the purpose to reduce crime, suicide, substance abuse and domestic violence. Janice earned her Master's degrees from Louisiana State University, her Gestalt Diploma from the Gestalt Institute of New Orleans, and additional years of training at the Esalen Institute of California. She is a licensed teacher, a School Social Work Specialist, a Clinical Social Worker and Diplomate, and a certified Master Neurolinguistic Practitioner.
