Running Free: Beyond the Girl Box is part memoir and part guide for anyone who has ever felt “boxed in” by cultural and societal expectations.
From childhood and addiction to elite athletics, motherhood, founding Girls on the Run, and the unexpected lessons found in everyday life, Molly Barker uses the power of storytelling to explore how the “Girl Box” shapes not only girls but all of us.
With honesty, humor, and compassion, Molly invites readers to embrace the wisdom children so naturally possess and carry it with them into the complicated and oftentimes messy work of being an adult.
