Successful movie Producer Grant Sterling has made a string of big hits by grabbing ideas from tragic news stories. Then he and turns them into blockbusters by adding or twisting details and facts to make them more thrilling. He promotes them not as true stories, but as inspired by true events. That gives him the freedom to tell a pack of lies while packaging them to the public as true stories. When he hits a dry spell for ideas and he fears for his success, he goes out and starts creating tragedies, to provide movie ideas rather than waiting for them to happen.
