Amy Albright is co-owner of Vinland Valley Nursery. In 1998 she and her husband opened the nursery with 4 high tunnels, a 2-bay heated greenhouse, and a small shop. Since then, VVN has grown to include additional acreage and now includes grower houses, bulk bins, a cutting garden, playground, seasonal coffee shop, and display beds. As a former wildlife rehabilitator, finding organic solutions for commercial growing has always been a priority and was not always easy to piece together. From sourcing organic fertilizers and potting mix to alternative pest controls, VVN has been at the forefront of bringing wildlife-friendly practices to greenhouse management.
