LISA FOSTER has been writing as long as she can remember. She was introduced to journalism in high school and discovered a career path for her interests. She began writing for the school newspaper, which opened a door to a position at Irmo Independent in Irmo, South Carolina. After completing a master's degree in mass communications at the University of South Carolina, she was hired by the ColumbiaState-Record newspaper.¿When Lisa met and marriedthe love of her life, she moved toCharleston where she worked atthe Charleston Post and Courier.While in their employment, shewas commissioned to writeher first book, Janie Mitchell,Reliable Cook. The book launchwas the most successful, atthat time, for the newspaper'sbook division. Now Lisa haswritten a second book, also setin Charleston, about the firstfemale printer in the Americancolonies: Elizabeth Timothy.
