Book 15 of the Tarzan Series - Special Edition Authorized by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., Featuring Rare and Previously Unpublished Archival Materials
Evil men have come to the land of Tarzan of the Apes, looting and killing as they move. But other evil lurks in a small valley of the Ghenzi Mountains, where the last remnants of an ugly, perverted people dwell in what they call their faith-an ancient belief that came from Rome nearly 2,000 years before. Now they are wicked and many of them are insane. And now they have captured Lady Barbara Collis and mean to use her as a human sacrifice-unless Tarzan arrives in time!

The creator of the immortal characters Tarzan of the Apes and John Carter of Mars, Edgar Rice Burroughs is one of the world's most popular authors. His timeless tales of heroes and heroines transport readers from the jungles of Africa and the dead sea bottoms of Barsoom to the miles-high forests of Amtor and the savage inner world of Pellucidar, and even to alien civilizations beyond the farthest star. Mr. Burroughs' books are estimated to have sold hundreds of millions of copies, and they have spawned 60 films and 250 television episodes.
Dr. Robert de Young has postgraduate qualifications in literary studies and has taught extensively in Australian universities in radio production, television and documentary production, film, and literary studies. He has worked for ABC radio and television as a director, producer, and executive producer before working freelance as a writer, producer, and director of documentary films. He has made feature-length films about actors Errol Flynn, Peter Finch, Rod Taylor, Jerry Lewis, rock journalist Lillian Roxon, producer Sam Spiegel, and the hundred-year history of Tarzan in film, television, and popular culture. These films have screened in international film festivals and been broadcast throughout the world. Robert currently works for the Estate of Leonard Cohen in Los Angeles as an archivist and creative producer.
Joe Jusko is among today's most acclaimed fantasy, pin-up, and comic artists. His work has been featured on book and comic posters, and on the much-praised 1992 Marvel Masterpieces trading cards. Jusko is a recipient of myriad industry honors, including a Certificate of Merit from the Society of Illustrators and a 2001 Chesley Award nomination. Fittingly, he was born on September 1, sharing his birthday with Edgar Rice Burroughs. Jusko's longtime love of Burroughs' work continues to inspire him in illustrating the Authorized Library and bringing the author's creative vision to life.
