Inhaltsangabe

Wonder what it's like to be a reporter on the scene of a tornado? Or to interview legendary basketball coach Bob Knight? Dennis Royalty has been there. This memoir takes you behind the scenes of his life in Indiana, from high school days at Frankfort to college at Indiana University, to reporting and writing at Bloomington and West Lafayette, Indiana, and to more than 20 years as a top editor at The Indianapolis Star. Funny in places, touching in others, "Tips and Tales: An Indiana Journalist Reflects on Craft and Career," is a first-person journey of highs, lows, and personal growth. Royalty includes four of his favorite columns, written as chief of a Carmel-based news bureau. There's an added bonus reflected by the book's title. In addition to personal memories, Royalty shares writing and editing advice that applies to anyone hoping to sharpen communication skills.
